When I decided to see the health advocate coach it was because of the results, I got from the on-campus screening. From that screening, I found I had some real health risks I needed to address. From my first meeting with Margaret it has been a joy to work with her. She discusses my issues with me in a “real world understanding”.
She understands unhealthy habits are not going to change overnight, it is a process that must take into account various factors that make up your “healthiest self”. We have worked at everything from my eating habits, to exercise, to sleep, to reducing stress in my everyday life.
I have enjoyed working with Margaret on these issues but my “end plan” is to get to a place where I do not need a health coach and it is second nature to me being my healthiest self, I am not there yet but it is the plan. I think a true coach really works at helping individuals help themselves and that is what I have gotten from working with Margaret.

During my health screening last fall of 2014 I met Margaret Lively. She was warm, open and was a calm presence in my then current state of extreme stress.
My personal life had been turned upside down and the life journey that I thought I was on was road blocked and detoured to a place that I had no idea how to travel. Margaret and I met weekly for a month and she helped me by offering stress relief options and suggestions such as web sites for meditations for peace and sleep. I took all of it gratefully, used it and still do.
Mostly she is there to listen to my “story” and allows me to vent. She has been and continues to be my touch stone that offers me a place to come where I can focus on myself and my needs. Margaret also serves as my life coach, redirects me and helps me to set up deadlines to focus on so I am not so overwhelmed with everything that I need to get done in order to prepare myself for the new journey that I have found myself on.
I am grateful for her understanding and her genuine interest in getting me to a place where I can function as a whole person. Margaret has helped me to be present in the moment without anxiety and stress at work and at home. Her suggestions on nutrition and encouragement to keep on practicing stress relief Qigong has helped remind me that I need to take very good care of me.
Although we meet less often now I am looking forward to our next visit for her welcoming smile and great good bye hugs. Thank you, Margaret, for helping me to heal and to have faith and courage with good tools for my new journey.

Working with Margaret has been a wonderful experience. Her enthusiasm, personal engagement and creative approach have been a pleasure.
I feel better, am taking less medicine and am enjoying learning more about how to take better care of myself. She is so positive and finds creative ways to incorporate a healthier lifestyle into my daily routine.
I love meeting with her and encourage anyone looking for another perspective on health management to reach out to her.

Margaret Lively has a been an encouragement to me as I’ve tried to live a more healthy lifestyle. Her advice on vitamin supplements and healthy food products has been helpful.
I truly appreciate her non-judgmental style and willingness to draw out from me my fitness and health goals.
Access to a health coach is a great benefit, and I’m glad to be able to speak with Margaret.

You are fabulous in every aspect of the word. In all honesty, I came to see you for the points in order to receive a discount on my health insurance, but after our first talk I was hooked.
You showed me a whole new way to think about life, health and keep a proper balance. You make it fun and easy to make changes in our daily routines that can have a big impact in our long term wellbeing and health.
I cannot thank you enough for your guidance, friendship and the wealth of knowledge you provide to me and our team here at the CIA. We’re lucky to have you.
